Family Navigator Service

The Family Navigator role is to support families whose children (aged 5 to 19) maybe struggling with their behaviour, mental or emotional health which could be affecting their lives, school attendance and attainment but where it is not clear what support is needed. (for example, GP’s can refer directly to CAMHS if they have identified this need so that the patient is not placed unnecessarily on our waiting list)

Our role is to arrange a visit to the family home where we conduct a full assessment of parent concerns, we may contact school for more information about the child if needed and then agree on the best support plan for the child/ young person. We work alongside school nurses and refer children to them if they have a health need or to other services within No Limits.
